Skidmore College
Skidmore College has experienced numerous changes since its establishing in the mid twentieth century as a ladies' school. The Young Women's Industrial Club was framed in 1903 by Lucy Ann Skidmore (1853–1931) with legacy cash from her spouse who kicked the bucket in 1879, and from her dad, Joseph Russell Skidmore (1821–1882), a previous coal vendor. In 1911, the club was contracted under the name "Skidmore School of Arts" as a school to professionally and professionally prepare young ladies.
Charles Henry Keyes turned into the first president of the school in 1912, and in 1919 Skidmore gave its first baccalaureate degrees under the power of the University of the State of New York. By 1922 the school had been sanctioned autonomously as a four-year, degree-conceding sch
